Paulina Malo Juvera (Pau Malo) is a Mexican artist, creative director, and designer based in Mexico City.
Pau Malo is a Mexican artist whose practice moves across encaustic painting, sculpture, textile and immersive environments. Working primarily with wax, copal, mineral pigments, fire, earth and light, she approaches material as a carrier of memory and transformation.
Her work investigates systems of language, memory and knowledge that exist beyond the immediately visible. Symbols, recurring geometries and imagined cartographies appear throughout the practice, not as fixed codes to be deciphered, but as fragments of an evolving visual language.
Across the work, symbol gradually gives way to matter, and matter to organism. Wax accumulates into relief, envelops found objects, forms imagined botanical species and preserves the traces of heat and gesture. Transformation becomes both process and subject: matter remembering what it was, becoming what it will be.
The practice extends beyond the individual object and into space through immersive environments and site-responsive installations. Bringing together material, light, fire and the human body, these works create territories that can be entered, inhabited and, at times, activated through participation.
